Craft Night at Kat's

It was craft night at my house. I like to decoupage old or plain boxes. Here are some pics of how I do it. First I gathered my supplies. A cardboard box, tissue (gift) paper, pictures, mod podge, paint or glaze, fairy dust.

The I wadded up the tissue paper to make it crinkled, cut to size and mod podged it to the top and the box.
Then I painted the lid and box.

Then glued the pics to the box.
and cover the lid and box with more mod podge.

Next I lined the box with fabric using a hot glue gun.

and when you're done you have a nice box for jewelry or fill with soaps and lotions and give as a gift.

Purdy!

Dust In The Wind

I was doing my fall cleaning (ok, most do it in the spring, I do it in the fall) and found this Amber Oil.....

l

...and took a whiff and all the smells of autumn came rushing into my head so in addition to dusting my house, I'm dusting off my blog. It's been years since we parted old friends but after finding so many other great blogs after stumbling onto The Practical Magic Blog Party blog, I feel an urge to play again. Maybe this is just a convenient diversion from my fall cleaning...maybe not but now I must find something to blog about. In the meantime, I must get back to my cleaning and putting out my fall decorations but I'll be back, I can feel it in the air.
